It’s important to note, this accolade is awarded based on merit, and orthopaedic surgeons cannot pay to be reviewed. The criteria for consideration include board certification, minimum years in practice, patient reviews, and more. Once a physician passes the initial inspection, he or she will then be assessed by a group of peers with over 40 years of medical experience. An annual re-review is performed to ensure only the most qualified individuals remain on the list.
